Great North Run 2018

The Great North Run is like Xmas Day in the Newcastle calendar. Once again, the half marathon created a buzz like no other - with participants and onlookers feeding off each others energy.

A spot on the Tyne Bridge is the perfect location to catch all the action. From an effortless Sir Mo Farah (eventual winner) galloping through, to Clowns and Minions providing a smile for all. There were even a couple of life sized Pepperami's amongst the running crowd!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Great North Run without the Red Arrows. The Royal Air Force Acrobatic Team arrived right on cue, arrowing their way over the Tyne Bridge; the sight and noise enough to provide a real ‘hairs-standing-on-end’ moment - with the resulting cheer from the crowd creating a further boost for those with heavy legs.

If you fancy lacing up for next year's race, then make sure you sign up for the Great North Run's reminder service - for a gentle nudge when the ballot opens in January 2019.
